Let’s paint “Stay Cool” – a fun summer quote! There are a few tricky letter combinations, and double o is one of those that needs lots of practice when lettering with watercolour. I’ve prepared a YouTube video tutorial for you that will explain how hand positioning is important.
With summer heat on my mind, I decided to letter ‘stay cool’ and practiced painting a few versions of double o with Kelly Creates Teal and Blue Watercolor Inks.
Here are the Kelly Creates Watercolor supplies I used:
I used Canson cold pressed watercolor paper 140 lbs (remember to draw pencil guidelines on your paper when you are practicing).
For more detailed instructions about learning watercolour lettering, I highly recommend my book The Art of Watercolor Lettering.
As well, using the Kelly Creates Watercolor Lettering workbooks and supplies will really help improve your skills.
