I know I’ve designed a LOT of free calligraphy worksheets for you, but this one is REALLY different and will help you so much!
The most challenging basic stroke is the oval, and this worksheet has oval outlines that you can follow for both reverse and regular ovals.
There are 9 letters in our alphabet with ovals: a b c d e g o p q. This worksheet will help you practice all of these letters with both large AND small brush tip pens.
Remember to use tracing paper on top of your regular copy paper when you download and print this worksheet. I traced my letters and ovals with my Kelly Creates ‘Ocean’ Dream pen and my Kelly Creates ‘Ocean’ Multicolor Small brush pen.
After tracing your ovals and letters, use smooth practice paper to write them again freehand. All the Kelly Creates paper pads have super smooth heavyweight paper that are perfect for brush pens.

October 22, 2021 at 1:24 pm (2 years ago)TY for the video and free worksheet ! I’m a beginner and this really s helps me . I was unsure if the oval should close or the letters such as *dgb would just attach to them . I love that I can use these ovals on this worksheet to practice my alphabet that uses them bc I’m always looking for what I call foundational drills to take me as far as I can before freehanding it myself . I am realy to add letters to my drills but still not ready to spend more money until I feel I’m there . Thanks again !
