Do you count your blessings daily?I forget sometimes. It’s hardest to do so when things aren’t going well, isn’t it? The past couple weeks have been very stressful. We had a family member suddenly in intensive care with a life threatening infection. Out of the blue! This is a reminder to me to not take my health or life for granted and to ‘count my blessings.’
I want to emphasize that often lettering pieces take time, practice and more than one draft. Starting with a pencil sketch is important to figure out placement and spacing. At first I thought I would alternate brown and teal watercolor inks, but changed my mind.
I find the colour Teal to be very soothing, so I painted this to help create calm. Colour can have a big impact on us, either calming or energizing. This ink is found in the Kelly Creates Watercolor Ink Set 2 “Cool.”

Another option for liquid watercolor inks is the Dr. Ph Martins ‘Hydrus’ Set 1 (there are 3 sets of different colours). And remember you need a palette with wells to use these liquid watercolours.
