For the New Year, I have a few resolutions. I want to focus on my health and fitness, and I want to be more creative. I decided to incorporate both those resolutions and step a little outside of my comfort zone to create a goal journal. Come along on my journey with me!

For this project I made a custom fitness journal that will help me track my exercise, water and more. I sat down with some Kelly Creates supplies and designed a journal that would be both creative and useful.

I wanted the Goal journal cover page to make me excited to journal every time I opened it. I am a hard core washi tape addict, so of course I incorporated some washi, but I also love all things gold. I added an acetate overlay! I started by penciling in the year and then lettered over it with the Kelly Creates fine black Brush pen from the Deluxe Lettering kit. Tracing over my pencil letters helps me with confident spacing and allows me to focus on brush strokes.

I added a washi tape border on the right, adhered the the gold polka dot acetate over my lettering and added 2019 with number stickers. I really love the layers on this cover page. Now it’s time to move on to the important part!

With the Kelly Creates Journaling stamp set and black ink pad, I stamped all the images I needed on Kelly Creates kraft paper from the Project pad. I used the banner and arrow shapes for my journal prompts, which I cut out with scissors and set aside.

I wanted to add an inspirational quote to remind me to keep going, so I used the Kelly Creates Slate Dream Pen (from the “Meadow” Set 2) to letter “Get it Girl”. I wanted to make this pop off the page, so I matted it with the pink cardstock and adhered this to the second page in the journal. I plan to incorporate an inspirational quote every month both to inspire me and to help me with lettering composition.

The next step is to create journaling boxes on the adjacent page. I REALLY love that this journal has the dotted pages; this keeps my lines straight! I am not very good at even and straight, so this is so helpful. I used the ruler and pencil from the Deluxe Lettering kit to design the layout and finally traced with the 005 Black Fineliner when I was ready to commit. I then wrote the word ‘goals’ across the top with the same 005 Black Fineliner Pen. This pen comes in a set of 6 black Fineliners of different sizes.

I used the circle stamp from 348277 Kelly Creates stamps with a black ink pad to add bullet journal spots for me to add my goals and be able to check them off as I accomplish them. I want to set 6-month and 12-month goals, as well as long-term goals. This is where the Kraft stamped banners I made earlier come in! These are small pieces, so I used the 005 Black Fineliner again to letter some faux calligraphy on them and adhered them to the journal boxes on this page.

The next pages will be weekly trackers. I cut 7 white pieces from the Kelly Creates Project pad measuring 1.5” x 5”. I also made sure I had stamped and cut 7 banners.

I stamped the week stamp so I can track the weeks within the month. The Kelly Creates “Journaling stamp set” is so handy for my bullet journal!

I used the tab stamp on kraft to write January. I used the 005 Black fineliner and Faux Calligraphy for the Month and Days of the week on these pages as well.

I laid out the journaling boxes and added the washi tape. Once I was happy with the layout, I adhered everything to the 2 pages. I plan to keep this same layout throughout the journal.  I added a sticker from the MAMBI Fitness Sticker Book. I also added the Week one stamp.

I drew black lines around each box to help them stand out, and added the days of the weeks on kraft banners. The ruler is my best friend!

I also added stickers to each box for tracking my water intake. I’m excited to be able to track my water to make sure that I am getting enough. I struggle with this, so tracking will hopefully help.

I am really looking forward to journaling my fitness goals and tracking my exercise and eating. But I am also excited to be creative in my journey! I hope that you also create a journal to help you reach your goals, no matter what they are. This can be easily be altered to fit any goals you might have. This is sooo nice Chasity. I especially like the overlays on the first pages and your use of the Kraft card stock with black lettering. It really stands out very nicely. Great job and thanks sharing it……Linda E.
