Who doesn’t love a BIG wrapped present under the tree?  If your budget allows, here are my suggestions for some high value gifts…just click on the photos, which are affiliate shopping links, and you can find more info and purchase on Amazon. A few of them are even UNDER $100….

The ENTIRE collection of 96 Tombow Dual Brush pens. Yes, I have this set, and yes I love it. If you want to color up your life, this is a fantastic gift. The water based ink never seems to dry out, no special storage is needed (store upright or horizontal) and you basically get 2 pens in one…because one tip is a brush tip and the other is a bullet tip. With the blending capabilities, you actually have a limitless number of colors in this set, not just 96. For all your coloring projects, creating watercolor art, lettering, brush calligraphy….the Tombow Dual Brush pens are a box of happiness.

The Huion Ultra Bright Tracing Light Box.  This is one incredible tool for every crafter for hand lettering and design. You will love the thinness and the adjustable brightness creates the perfect workspace. Whether you’re making custom lettering projects or tracing flowers to color or paint, the Huion is the answer. If you would like to see this light pad in action, watch this wonderful video by Kristina Werner who shows how she uses it for watercolor lettering. Click HERE to watch on YouTube.

Sakura Koi Coloring Brush Pens.  Another set of brush pens that I adore is the Sakura Koi Coloring brush pens. I have the set of 24 but this set of 48 is on my Christmas wish list right now. The physical size of these brush pens are lovely…the small barrels are comfortable to hold, and it is easier to pack more into a regular size pencil case for travel. With their water based ink and beautiful pigments, these pens can be used for coloring and watercolor, along with hand lettering and calligraphy.
Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Subscription.    If you’re a lover of handmade, you will have to get a subscription to the premier crafting magazine, Creative Scrapbooker, which is available internationally in print or digital. Published 4 times a year, quarterly Spring, Summer, Winter, Fall, this magazine is a keepsake resource that will teach and inspire you to create wonderful projects all year round. Not just for the scrapbooker, this magazine is overflowing with creative ideas for card makers, mixed media fans, and basically anything to do with paper crafting. After spending time reading, you will be excited to get artsy and crafty…a 2-year subscription is LESS than $100!

creative-scrapbooker-issuesKuretake Clean Color Real Brush Pens.  There is always another pen set on my list, and the Kuretake Clean Color Real Brush pen is a beauty! These brush pens have a synthetic tip of brush strands with wonderful flexibility to achieve a huge variation in line widths. Although this soft brush tip is harder to control in terms of brush lettering, it is definitely worth practicing and mastering this type of pen because the results are stunning. Aside from lettering, like the other brush pen sets, the ink is water based and lovely for watercolours and colouring in general. There is always room for another pen set and this one is fabulous!

The Brother ScanNCut 2.  If you have been following my blog for …well, YEARS…. you know that I love my paper crafting and have worked a lot with the Brother ScanNCut machine. And when I started hand lettering a year ago, I was pretty excited to try cutting out my ‘words’ with the ScanNCut …and it works beautifully.  Plus, it is an excellent digital cutting machine with a built in library of shapes, word art, and fonts, so even if you don’t do hand lettering, you can still cut out beautiful words. Click HERE to watch a video I made awhile ago showing how I cut out my handwriting. And click HERE to visit the Brother website for more info and many more videos that are helpful and creative.

L’Occitane Shea Butter Gift Set.   Give the gift of soft hands and creamy body butter this Christmas. If I want my hands looking great on video, or photos, doing calligraphy, the L’Occitane Shea Butter cream is GOLD. The fragrances are pleasant and not overpowering, which is important for me because of allergies and sensitivities. This gift basket is underlined in red 5 times on my wish list, and I will buy it for myself if no one else does!

Kate Spade Stationery.   The classic design and simple elegance of Kate Spade makes these gifts timeless. We all want to be more organized, right? I believe the Kate Spade planner, organizer, personal agenda….will make my life better! ha!  And then there is the color…the prettiest ‘Ballet Slipper Pink’..stunning! SWOON!

iPad Pro.  Last Christmas I received the best present from my husband…an iPad. And of course, now I want an iPad Pro. In terms of hand lettering and calligraphy, digitizing work, or simply just playing with sketching and drawing, the iPad Pro is a game changer. Yes, it is. That Apple pencil is magic, and there are now so many Apps and pencil ‘brush’ fonts you can get to make your calligraphy and lettering into technological works of art. Apple knows what they’re doing.  That is all.
