My beginnings in the crafting industry was scrapbooking. I started scrapbooking 11 years ago when my oldest child was 10 years old, and I was determined to make a Baby Album for each of my 3 children, plus my nephew. After accomplishing that goal, I became pretty tired of making baby pages, so I moved on to scrapbooking whatever photos that inspired me, including heritage pictures. So no, I am not a chronological scrapbooker, and yes, I am still scrapbooking and NEVER tire of it! My style and designs have changed over the years, but I love arranging papers and photos and creating with all the wonderful products out there!
Today I’m sharing a couple of layouts and a card I designed as part of the Tombow Brand Ambassador team to celebrate National Scrapbook Day. And shocking news….I made these layouts for me, with photos of myself in them!
The first one is a page of my husband and I taking a selfie together in the car. I have been trying to get more fun photos of us together…because we still do have so much fun as a couple, even 27 years later!
I used my Tombow Fudenosuke soft brush tip pen to write “you have my” as part of my title
These papers and stickers are from the Simple Stories “Heart” collection, and I just love the colour palette.
This layout design and the next one are both based on Creative Scrapbooker magazine’s May Sketch:
My next layout is a photo of my friends and I taking a ‘groupie’ shot at the Grand Canyon, a couple of years ago. This was an amazing trip, and I really should make a mini album about it.
Again, I followed the sketch above, but this time I rotated it a quarter turn clockwise.
I wanted to bring in some black elements for contrast so I picked up my Tombow Monotwin marker and doodled some lines… around the edge of the layout, around the flowers I cut out and around the large green circle too.
You can add your own personal touch to anything by drawing, lettering and doodling onto your scrapbook pages.
I used the wonderful line from Fancy Pants Designs called “ME-ology”…a totally appropriate paper collection for this photo, don’t you think?!
This collection has a great sticker set too, which I added around my photo.
I also made a Mother’s Day card for this National Scrapbook Day event, which I blogged about a couple of days ago. I hand lettered and illustrated “Happy Mother’s Day” with my Tombow Monotwin marker. You can click HERE to read all about this card that was designed with some gorgeous Graphic45 papers and May Arts ribbon.
And how did I stick it all together? With an assortment of my favourite Tombow Adhesives!
