Easter is the time of year when I always start to think of creative ways to decorate eggs. After Christmas, I think Easter is my favourite special occasion. I love the shape of eggs and think of the white 3D oval canvas as an exciting creative challenge.

While I usually use my Aqua Brushes for lettering, I have also created some watercolour designs and colouring projects with them, so I was eager to try them out for decorating some Easter eggs. The soft bristle brush makes applying colour to the eggs really easy.

There are 10 colours of Aqua Brushes to create an infinite number of decorated eggs. You can pick these up at Michaels stores in North American, plus other retailers worldwide.

Your supply list is short and sweet: white eggs and Gloves are handy and paper towels to protect your skin from staining. I didn’t use any and by the next day the colours on my hands had washed away.

The Aqua Brushes can offer bright pigmented colour or used with water to create softer palettes. I used a few different colours of Aqua brushes on each egg and blended them together.

I also tried to create some marbling effects using my metallic Jewel brush pens.

Thanks Susan! I don’t eat any of the eggs I decorate, and I don’t recommend that anyone do so. Because of inks and dyes and the shell being porous, I think it’s best not to eat them.
