One of my favourite special occasions is Easter. I love the baskets, Easter morning and all the traditions too. At 13, I learned how to make Ukrainian Easter eggs, also called Pysanky, from some talented artists in my Ukrainian church. Here is an egg one of ‘church ladies’ designed:
That is the Lord’s Prayer…. amazing!
I’ve made many eggs over the years and have taught my girls how to make them. Only BabyOfTheFamily is interested. She is crafty like her mama.
My grandmother (Baba) on my mother’s side made Pysanky, and I still have some of hers, although she passed away 40 years ago.
I also have her tools, which are a treasure: beeswax in a cup and some stylus’ (kiska) that she made herself! They might even be 100 years old.

Aside from the traditional patterns, I sometimes make my own designs.
If I have time, I enjoy making Easter cards. Here is a card that is featured on The Crafty Power blog.

We have the same tradition in Poland and the same techniques although I’ve never been able to achieve such gorgeous results :).
