It’s ‘Back to School’ for many families this month, so let’s practice lettering a positive affirmation that we can frame to place in our homes or give as a gift to teachers.
First, I sketched this retro lettering heart-shaped design on my practice paper and then committed to watercolour paper.
I decided to add outlines with my Kelly Creates 01 Black Fineliner. After I outlined the letters I felt that the heart shape was a little ‘lost’ so I drew a heart with the black fineliner as well.
I chose to paint the words in primary colours using the Kelly Creates Watercolour Inks in Poppy, Yellow and Blue with the Kelly Creates #4 lettering brush and daisy palette.
I used Canson watercolour paper 140 lb. cold pressed.
