The temperature is cooling quickly where I live in Canada, and soon we will have the white stuff falling from the sky…yikes! It’s time to pull out our warmer clothing, and thus I was inspired to paint the cute phrase ‘sweater weather.’
SUPPLIES: Kelly Creates Teal, Yellow and Brown (Orange and Blue mixed) Watercolor Inks
Have you seen the ‘Sweater Weather’ skit from Saturday Night Live? It is so funny! Here is a short clip:
I’ll be honest – it was hard to choose the colours for this piece. I love teal and brown together and decided to add yellow too. I think next time I would mix a darker brown or leave out the yellow. There are a number of inks you can combine to create brown, and I wanted a warm tone so I mixed Kelly Creates Blue and Orange watercolor inks.
I painted with my Size 2 Kelly Creates Lettering brush and palette and used Canson Watercolour Cold Pressed paper 140 lbs.
