My favorite book is Mark Twain’s A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court. I like this book, because I like Camelot and Twain is always very funny with his satires. Another book that I like is Herman Hesse’s Siddartha. It is a book about Buddha. It is a thin and easy to read book. HAve you read either one?

My favorite book is not someone would call a classic. My favorite book is a romance one called Ashes in the Wind by Kathleen Woodiwiss. I’m a romantic and I love this book. It was lent to me by my aunt when I was a teenager and I read it in 24 hours. I just couldn’t put it down and definitely not go to sleep until I was done. After I returned the book, I went and purchased a copy for myself and have read it a few times. In fact, I was just thinking of reading it again this past week and today I found out about your giveaway.

I’m a really slow reader so I’m only just now starting book nine in the series ?. I highly recommend the series though to anyone who loves “feel good” “Hallmark” books. My favourite book is “All Quiet on the Western Front” by Erich Maria Remarque. I have an old edition in German that my dad past onto me, than I found one of the very first editions of the same book (it stinks due to age but I love it dearly) and when I moved to Australia I found the English first edition. His other books are incredible too but this one I have read over and over since my teenager years. I was learning how to write in Sütterlin (old German handwriting) from my Grandma around the same time which was the start for my hand lettering hobby.

I used to be such a prolific reader that it’s difficult to pick a “favorite”! I know that Where the Red Fern grows was the first book that made me cry and that two years later, when the movie came out, it was the first time I’d ever seen a grown man (my third grade teacher, Mr. Sherrill) cry. The Count of Monte Cristo” was the first classic my 6th grade teacher, Mrs. Brown, had me read. Her method of having us read one classic every six weeks and give a book report on it is what taught me how to see new worlds and explore new ideas from the safety of my bedroom. The Bible was fascinating and life changing. The “Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k”, although brash and unnecessarily titled to elicit reactions also a dramatic eye opener in a different light. “The Art of Brush Lettering” and this blog I credit for starting my creative journaling, and for the last six months, the only thing I’ve had time to read are electronic textbooks and I miss the weight of a good book in hands and the smell of the new pages as they’re turned. A rainy , cool day in my favorite chair with a book I can’t put down is the biggest thing I miss from my pre-pandemic life. Thank you for letting me remember such fond memories Kelly!!

My favorite book of all time is George Orwell’s 1984. I was never really good at history but English was always my favorite class. With this book, my teacher did such a great job at showing the historical connection and why the author was so clever with the book. It gave me a true appreciation for understanding the historical context of what I am reading and now as an adult I enjoy learning the background history.

My favourite book of all time would have to be Charlotte’s Web. It was the first novel I was ever given when I was about 7 and I think I read it over 20 times! I just got lost on that farm and felt like I was right there with Fern and the animals! I laughed, I cried and it was the first book to open my eyes to the emotion you can feel when you read a well written book. At just over 50, I still have the well worn book and as a teacher I share it with all of my classes to show them first hand how you can develop a love of reading and that it’s ok to go back and read a book again and again! I dream of publishing a book one day!

I don’t really have a favorite book because I love too many! However, one of my top favorite series is To All The Boys by Jenny Han. I can relate very much to Lara Jean, until she gets a “fake” real boyfriend as I haven’t had one yet. All the things she does and say remind me of myself, and I’ve had friends who have read or watched the movies point the same things out to me too.

My first choice would be the Harry Potter series. But, truly my most favorite would be the Bible!
