UPDATE: Congrats to the WINNER Linda Epstein!
“The projects that absolutely bring me joy are lettering/calligraphy and card making with rubber stamping.”
Happy New Year and welcome to my website and blog! Thank you so much for participating in the annual Seasons Givings blog hop organized by the amazing Latisha Yoast. I am so grateful for our creative community and especially for crafters like you who take the time to visit our blogs and support designers and artists like myself.
I’m Kelly Klapstein, also known as “Kelly Creates” online. I began my blog as a scrapbooker quite a few years ago, and taught paper crafting classes for a long time. I also write for Creative Scrapbooker magazine.
Almost 4 years ago, I picked up a brush pen and taught myself calligraphy and hand lettering. A new passion for pen and paper grew within me, and I quickly fell in love with this beautiful art form. Practicing calligraphy is a meditative and calming experience. Many people tell me how relaxed and focused they feel while working with pen and paper, laying down the ink onto a blank canvas and working on the technique to create thick and thin lines with a brush pen.
Fast forward to now….I have my own line of hand lettering products with American Crafts and also published a book called The Art of Brush Lettering one year ago! I can’t believe where 2018 has taken me… all over the world teaching calligraphy workshops.
I continue to develop new products with American Crafts under my Kelly Creates brand, and feel so blessed to say that my dreams have come true.
If you would like to follow along on my creative journey and learn the relaxing art of lettering, feel free to subscribe to my newsletter and this blog too (sign ups on the right side bar) and join me on social media. I have a Facebook page Kelly Creates Studio and wonderful group “Kelly Creates Art & Calligraphy” where many inspiring and friendly people spend time together every day. You can also check out my YouTube channel where I upload video tutorials every week. I’m always sharing videos on Instagram too (@kellycreates).
Maybe this is your year to learn something new to bring into your crafty toolbox….and you can add your lettering and calligraphy to your cards, scrapbook layouts, art journals, planners, bujo’s and more. I have digital download worksheets right here on my website under the SHOP tab and some freebies for you under the FREE FOR YOU menu tab.
You can shop for my lettering and calligraphy line in craft stores all over the world and also online. I have a separate online store (not this website) and it is at http://www.kellycreatesstore.com . Also, I now have a limited time FREE Lettering class through Scrapbook.com. Click HERE to register or learn more.
Please leave a comment telling me about what crafty projects bring you joy (card making, scrapbooking, knitting, crochet etc), and you will be entered to win this amazing prize package of lettering supplies!
