Rose Kurmann ( @littlemissrose http://www.littlemissrose.com ) is using the new Kelly Creates journal stamps to design a weekly in her bullet journal! And the good news is that now there are 2 creative journals with a dot grid and faux suede embossed covers in the Kelly Creates collection: Clarity (black) and Harmony (pink). I’m a newbie when it comes to stamps, but when I saw Kelly’s new clear stamp collection I had to give it a go! Here, I’ll show you how I decorated this very simple weekly spread in my bullet journal using Kelly Creates clear stamps.
Supplies used:
- Kelly Creates Clear Acrylic Stamps – Florals
- Kelly Creates Clear Acrylic Stamps – Calendar
- Kelly Creates Clear Acrylic Stamps – Bouncy Alphabet
- Kelly Creates Deluxe Lettering Kit
- Kelly Creates Fineliner
- Ink pads in various colours
- An acrylic block for stamping
To begin, I used a pencil from the Kelly Creates Deluxe Lettering Kit to draft in 8 boxes leaving space on the edges of the two pages.
Next, I decided to use the floral border stamp in the Kelly Creates Clear Acrylic Stamps – Florals set to decorate the edges of the page. The acrylic stamp needs to be placed on a clear acrylic block so that you can use it. (After using all stamps, you can clean them with a damp cotton rag or baby wipes or stamp cleaner)
I carefully added ink to the stamp using pink for the flowers and green for the leaves. Make sure you have plenty of ink on the stamp but not too much. You may want to do a test on a scrap piece of paper to check that you have used the right amount of ink. On a flat surface, carefully stamp along the edges of the pages pressing down hard.
Next, I used the days of the week stamps from the Kelly Creates Clear Acrylic Stamps – Calendar set to add the week day headings. These are the perfect size for a standard 5mm dot grid journal and fantastic if you want neat and beautiful lettering but haven’t quite got the skills to letter it yourself. I also added the month to the first box using letters from the Kelly Creates Clear Acrylic Stamps – Bouncy Lettering set.
Using a Kelly Creates fineliner size 03, I drew in the boxes, being careful not to rule over the stamped leaves and flowers. I also outlined the month to make it stand out and added the week number. If you like, you can also add the dates to the boxes. Erase any pencil marks and you’re all set for the week with this simple weekly spread.
Thank you Rose! I don’t know if I’ve seen a prettier weekly! Well, actually, all of Rose’s spreads are amazing. For more inspiration and bullet journal ideas, follow Rose on Instagram @littlemissrose and her website http://www.littlemissrose.com
