I did something that I haven’t done in a very very very very very long time.  Yes, that long.  I met a friend in a scrapbook store yesterday and bought some new papers that I LOVED at first sight 🙂

Glitz Design “Hello Friend”


I stopped in front of those paper racks and was enchanted by this collection.  So I picked up a few pieces of the beautiful papers and matching embellishments….


…and today I took them out of the bag and designed a layout.  No planning, no sketch….nada….just plain ole’ inspiration and adhesive.  


I immediately knew which photo I wanted to scrap since Valentine’s Day is here.

My wedding pic….over 23 years ago.

You know what?  It felt GOOOOD to create this layout.  


And I reached another goal this week…I started making videos to showcase my layout designs and techniques.

On Cloud Nine


Here is my first video showing how this layout came together.  It has a fast forward of the designing process from start to finish so it’s not too long and boring.

    Kelly, your layout is so sweet. Love the way you used the garland, anchored with the big butterfly. That photo makes me smile. The ’80s look + your hubby’s expression. LOL.

    I watched your video. I am not a scrappy video watcher so I don’t have anything to compare it too. You did a great job. Congrats on your first one! It was fun to hear your voice! For a critique: after the music started, it felt like a long 6 or so minutes with no narration. I would have liked a speeded up section, then paused for narration on why or how you did something, then speeded up section, then paused for narration, etc. Also, I am not sure: did the video include everything you did? I think so? I would be tempted to edit out parts like opening the garland package.

    Of course, you work is wonderful, as always. My next task is to figure out how one subscribes to a youtube channel….. I so want to take a class from you and this will be the next best thing. I hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day. xoxo

    Kelly! This was fabulous!!!!! Loved watching your process, looks exactly similar to what I’ve been doing – just playing for fun, and trying to get myself back into the swing of scrapbooking vs cardmaking! This really is exceptional and I love that collection too, especially the paper garland! Looking forward to more videos – and the sped up version is perfect by the way, definitely don’t get bored 🙂
