Good news…and Bad news

So, which do you want first?  The good news or the bad news?  I’m always curious about what people choose to hear first.  I’m a “tell me the good news first” type, so that’s what I’ll deliver…

Part of the good news is that I’m on a Spring Break holiday right now in sunny Phoenix with my family, which is why I haven’t blogged in the past couple of weeks.  As far as I’m concerned, palm trees and cactus are ALWAYS good news 🙂

The bigger good news is….I’ve been invited to be a featured instructor at Scrapbook Your Heart Retreat!  This is an amazing scrapbooking event organized annually by Allison Orthner and Christy Riopel and Kandi where women come together to scrapbook and explore matters of the heart through creative expression.

The theme of the retreat is “Lessons from the Garden of Life.”

Click HERE for more details…and hope you can join us for a fabulous scrapbooking experience!

And now the sad news….

The Graphic 45 2012 Design Team was announced, but I did not make it.  I’m glad I auditioned and want to thank everyone who encouraged me to go for it.  I’m still happy that I was chosen as one of the top 30 finalists, and it’s been an exciting few weeks.  I also want to congratulate all the amazingly talented artists who did make the final cut….and can’t wait to be inspired by their projects in the upcoming year!

Now, back to Spring Break!  I have 2 more days of hot weather to enjoy….and a couple of American craft stores to check out!

Congratulatons on being the guest instructor at Scrapbook Your Heart! I went for the first time last year and had a fantastic time. Too bad I can’t go this year, but I know you are in such great company with Allison and Christy!

So sorry about the G45 team. I was rooting for you and Karen Zueger. You are both perfect for the team. Unfortunately in this business there is some rejection, but that doesn’t make you less of an artist. It is their loss for sure. Please don’t give up and do try again next year. You go girl! I believe in everything you do!

I was not surprised that you were chosen as G45 finalist….. BUT was really surprised they didn’t select you for their team. As others have said, it’s their loss! Keep creating with your great ideas, and congratulations on being invited to be an instructor at the retreat. Focus on the positive!

Oh, a retreat! How wonderful, Kelly. Those folks really tapped the right person. I know you will be an amazing teacher and really inspire the participants. Plus, I am sure they will laugh a lot in your class. I am already green with envy that I am not one of them…..Re: G45. Oh, so close and yet so far. Bummer! I thought *for sure* you would be chosen because you are the bomb diggity! I sound like your mom here, but I am proud of you for trying out. It required a certain boldness the way the audition process worked and of course you rocketed right into the top 30 as I knew you would. Tis their loss for sure, but now you have time to do other totally fab things like this retreat. So, yay! Now you have time, freedom and new gigs. Congrats, Kelly.
