I have my own little craft and design business. I make greeting cards for different companies and clients. It’s so satisfying to finish up a large order and see the clients face when they see all the work you have done for them. When I’m super stressed, I like to get creative by lettering. It’s so relaxing.

I never realized i was looking for a creative outlet before, i just thought i had ideas cause i was bored, and i never found anything i thought i was good at. I tried coloring books, sewing, making head bands and other random things i would find on pinterest, and i never really liked doing them because i didn’t feel like i was good at it. Then i found lettering, and i wasn’t good at first but I thought it looked awesome and it wouldn’t hurt to try and i fell in love, thats how i found water color, and now those two things are my current favorite creative outlet

The way I express creativity is through painting and colored pencil drawing. I live in New Orleans and the architecture is so rich here. One of my favorite things to recreate is the landscape and buildings in New Orleans. I think New Orleans is one of the greatest places to go and get inspired by the art, music, and sounds. I like to give handmade whenever I can. Nothing feels better than creating an item for a specific person and thinking of them while you create it. A glass of wine, and sitting in front of a fireplace is when I’m most creative with paper and writing. I also love to sew and quilt. I created Easter bunny bags out of my scraps, sold them to friends and donated all the proceeds to AARCS. That felt great.

However, after making dietary and lifestyle changes I’m looking for healthier options, lol. My new interest is learning Calligraphy for future wedding invites and to destress.

I express my creativity with everything I do. I’ve been an artist all my life from the first smiling horse I drew on cardboard from my mother’s pantyhose package at age 5 (my 93 year old father still has it) to 3 decades as a graphic artist. Now I’m striving to get back to my roots as a painter but want to include those graphic elements I’m so fond of by adding the new modern calligraphy. Your Youtube video is the first I’ve heard the name ‘bouncy lettering’. I’m very familiar with those styles as digital fonts, but now I want to do it ALL by hand!

Myself, haha. I have severe mental illness, and one of the most helpful coping methods I’ve found is just to be creative with myself. I cut my own hair, dye it myself when I have the money, decorate all my mobility and medical equipment, upcycle most things, make a lot of stuff that I use, wear, and so on. Both my disability and poverty (especially poverty) make a lot of that necessary, I have an income of nearly 0, and a lot of things aren’t made for people with disabilities. (Those that are are extremely expensive.) so I just make stuff and I love it because it allows me to personalize everything and I get cooler things than i might otherwise have.

Since I was young, my great-aunt used to bring from Germany all sort of crafts. i woukd be the only one of my sisters that would stay for hours sitting down doing things. And through the years, it’s helped me in many ways. To evolve artistically. It helped me to easily find a way to do things and put ideas on paper. But I found mainly watercolors are my thing. I love sitting outside and painting. It satisfies me in many ways

Admittedly, I don’t express my creativity (art, crafts, lettering, and so on), nearly as much as I’d like to. I tend to get into a rut and repeat very basic designs, I’d really like to get into calligraphy and hand lettering, as I feel it would lend so much more to projects and cards, vs the same old stamped sentiments.
