I made a Father’s Day card this year for my dad.

You can learn how I made those shiny copper stripes by visiting The Crafty Power Blog, where you will find this card and a video tutorial.  Click HERE to check it out.

I have the most wonderful Dad….

….who is also the best grandfather ever.

He was always playful…

…telling jokes…

…gentle and generous.

Now at the age of 88, he suffers from the late stages of Alzheimers.

He has forgotten almost everything, but I refuse to forget the happy memories he has given us.

Happy Father’s Day, Dad.  I love you.

Bless you, for being able to walk alongside your Dad, to comfort him and love him through this very difficult disease. And now I need to search for a tissue.

It’s hard not to be teary eyed reading this! You know he and your mom have to be really remarkable people to have a daughter who honors them like you do. Great card, and you know how much I adore that layout!

What a beautiful layout and such a tribute to your father. I am so sorry to hear that he is not well, life can be so cruel at times. I lost my Dad when he was only 55 but I still have so many fond memories to hold close to my heart. I just stopped in to tell you I had a blast at the class last night and it was a honor to meet you. Take care and have a great weekend.

Your story and layout brings tears to my eyes! Sorry he has
been living with Alzheimer’s,….seems to be in almost every family now!
So glad you can still stay positive and remember the life that you had with
him prior to this stage in his life! 🙂

Oh,Kelly-this is so amazing. I have worked in geriatrics for over 15 years and Alzheimer’s is such a terrible thief. Your layout is truly beautiful and so perfectly captures the emotional whallop you are facing. Just beautiful! Now pass the tissues!
